Travertine is a limestone, also known as calcium carbonate, formed in layers around natural hot springs rich in minerals.
It is often mistakenly referred to as marble, which, despite also being a natural limestone, has a different crystal composition and orientation.
Approximately 50% of granite’s weight is oxygen. All the granite we can see came from between 1 and 20 miles below the earth’s surface.
This technique, also known as vitrification, involves the use of a chemical and steel wool pads to generate friction and heat on the marble’s surface, ultimately achieving a high-gloss finish.
